It has been a turbulent period for College employees, what with all the area reviews, but the excitement levels are already building for the advent of a history-making event.

Uncertainty levels have been high recently but our Colleges are holding their heads up high and many are not allowing their standards around Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (FREDI) to slip!

For that, we salute you and we are going to be recognising your tremendous work. You have had it hard but for one night and memories that will last a thousand and more days, you can put all that to one side at the National Centre for Diversity’s FE Sector Diversity Awards 2016.

This morning I wrote to the Principals of 50 Colleges to inform them that they were placed somewhere in the Top 50. They will find out their exact position on the night of Tuesday the 15th November 2016 at the plush Burlington McDonald Hotel in Birmingham.

On this night, history will be made when we recognise the Top 50 Colleges in rank order.

There will also be awards for regional College of the Year e.g. Yorkshire and Humber College of the Year, London and South East College of the Year etc. There is also another important category – Specialist College of the Year.

Tickets are going at a pace and we can only accommodate 200 people- so don’t miss out (as many people did for our Grand Awards back in January).

To book your table now visit: www.nationalcentrefordiversity.com/fe-sector-diversity-awards-2016

The individual awards categories are:

  • FE Sector Employee of the Year
  • FE Sector EDI lead of the Year
  • Corporation Board Member of the Year
  • Learner of the Year
  • EDI marketing campaign of the Year

The Nominations for our FE Sector Diversity Awards have now closed.

We are going to be announcing those who have been nominated in a range of different ways, using several different mediums to make sure we maximise publicity for those lucky enough to be nominated.

Good luck to you all and see you on the night!
