AELP gained a greater understanding of member opinions allowing them to build a positive plan for action.

Background:

The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) represents around 800 organisations that deliver training and vocational learning. Supporting learners in every community by providing training opportunities, hosting events and representing members interests on a political level.

The Aims:

For Project Manager and EDI Lead, Madhavi Kumar, it was important for the organisation to embed EDI at every level, and to create a safe and welcoming environment for staff and members.

The AELP knew that they wanted to take a more proactive approach to their commitments but didn’t know where to start. The National Centre for Diversity was able to provide a clear road map with aims and destinations to work towards.

What has been the impact?

The NCFD surveys allowed the organisation to understand what members were thinking and build an action plan, ultimately Madhavi believes that there has been a whole shift in culture.
