Positive Outcomes From EDI Accreditation

We have had over 50 new Dignity & Respect champions onboard our colleague forums to help drive change and make AmcoGiffen a great place to work.

Background:

With origins in the mining industry, AmcoGiffen has evolved over more than fifty years into a trusted provider of renewals, enhancements, and asset maintenance solutions. Today, we operate across a wide range of critical infrastructure sectors, including rail, highways, aviation, environmental, and energy. Our multidisciplinary expertise and commitment to safety, innovation, and long-term value enable us to support clients in delivering resilient infrastructure that keeps the UK moving and growing.

The Aims:

At the beginning of our journey, we wanted to truly understand our colleagues’ views on the organisation’s culture and where we need to improve and do better. The surveys and focus groups provided us with vital information to put in place a dedicated action plan of tangible improvements and commitments to provide a workplace culture where everyone can thrive.

I am thrilled to have achieved this accreditation. I am so proud of the hard work and dedication of our colleague forums and team members to embed FREDIE, provide learning and engagement opportunities for our colleagues and shape and improve inclusive practices throughout the organisation. We could not have done this without the engagement and honest feedback from our colleagues. I am looking forward to the next steps in our D&I journey and seeing what else we can achieve together.

What commitment have they shown?

As a business, we are truly passionate about creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, safe and respected and can bring their whole selves to work. We introduced our FREDIE values and continue to embed these, incorporating them into our daily activities as they represent how we treat one another. Our Dignity & Respect Workplan educates and empowers colleagues to challenge inappropriate behaviours, and we have introduced Dignity & Respect champions to exemplify FREDIE and help continue to improve our workplace culture.

Our Diversity & Inclusion Forum and Women at AmcoGiffen Forum are integral to our journey and host Let’s Learn About Sessions and mentorship schemes to enhance colleagues’ learning and engagement around different D&I topics

Business Impact

The impact of our Investors in Diversity journey and the embedment of our FREDIE values has been shown through more regular conversations around diversity and inclusion taking place, and the willingness from our colleagues to get involved to help continually improve our workplace and make it a place where everyone belongs. We have had over 50 new Dignity & Respect champions onboard our colleague forums to help drive change and make AmcoGiffen a great place to work.
